T’ai Chi Chih is a moving meditation that cultivates health, serenity and longevity. This new form of the ancient Chinese art of T’ai Chi was originated by Justin Stone and first taught in 1974. It is particularly well adapted to our fast-paced and stress-filled lives. With only 20 easy-to-learn movements that are enjoyable to do, it can be done by anyone, regardless of physical ability.

T’ai Chi Chih is ideal for people of any age. You can adapt the gentle movements to your comfortable range of motion. They require only a few feet of space so they can be done almost anywhere, including by your desk or in your kitchen when feeling tired or tense. They have a peaceful yet energizing effect which dissolves tensions, enhances creativity and productivity, and supports lifestyle changes.

Practitioners of T’ai Chi Chih say that it:

      •Relaxes & relieves stress

      •Improves balance and flexibility

      •Gives more energy and stamina

      •Regulates weight and blood pressure

      •Helps to sleep better

      •Relieves back pain and headaches

•Increases mental clarity, concentration and creativity

•Improves circulation and benefits arthritic joints

The regular practice of T’ai Chi Chih produces these wonderful benefits by circulating and balancing what the Chinese call “Chi”.  What is this mysterious Chi? Accredited Instructor for 24 years and Teacher Trainer, Pam Towne says, “Chi can be translated as ‘Vital Energy’. It is the energy that flows through our bodies and through every living thing. It is the Life Force itself! Many people experience it as a pleasant tingling sensation while doing T’ai Chi Chih.”
